VC football team wins 2013 season opener in thriling fashion

It came down to the very end, but the Valley Center Jaguars stormed down the field in the final minute of the game to score the game-winning touchdown and two-point conversion with only six seconds left to beat Mar Vista 34 - 33 in the 2013 regular season opener.

VC quarterback Daniel DeLeon led the march down the field and scrambled into the endzone with six seconds on the clock to pull his team within one of the visiting Mariners. Coach Rob Gilster went for the win with the two-point conversion, and DeLeon threw a strike to Josh Lucas for the game-winning points.
