Field Hockey: Lady Jags beat Mission Bay in overtime

For the second straight game, the Valley Center varsity field hockey team went to overtime, but this time the Lady Jaguars prevailed, taking a 2–1 win over Mission Bay on Thursday.
The Lady Jags fell behind early, as Mission Bay scored in the first half and held a one-goal lead at the break.
But Valley Center cranked up the pressure and scored in the second half to tie the game, then kept the pressure on to score in overtime for the win.
Liz Loera and Marisol Luna each scored a goal for the Lady Jaguars, while Victoria Navarro had an assist on both goals. Valley Center goaltender Danielle Moran made one save to get the victory.
The Lady Jags are now 14–4–1 overall, with the next game coming at home against Mt. Carmel on Thursday at 3 p.m.
