Thanks to a big first quarter and a stout defense down the stretch, the Valley Center varsity boys lacrosse team beat Mt. Carmel 14-7 at home on Wednesday night.
The Jaguars jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the first quarter, but the Sundevils came back to make the score 10-4 at halftime. Mt. Carmel three in a row to end the third quarter trailing by only four, 11-7, but the Jags held strong on defense in the fourth quarter and scored three more times on offense to seal the win.
